Coming together as a community and helping those who need it most are acts of kindness that will help get us through the pandemic together. As part of the At Home with A.LONDON series we wanted to share with you our gestures of good will to inspire you to help your community.

RUNNING 5, DONATING 5

“We have been shopping locally supporting our small country store, participating in charitable events such as the run 5K, donate £5 and nominate 5 as part of the Run.For.Heros Challenge – a phenomenal fundraiser which is set to raise £250,000 only 10 days in. Not to forget our own loved ones self-isolating. I have made daily calls to my elderly loved ones, ordered knitting packages and generally keeping in touch with as much as possible to sure they remain stimulated during this time.”

SENDING CARE PACKAGES

“My sisters and I have sent care packages containing lots of yummy treats to our elderly vulnerable family members who are stuck inside. In addition to this I have also been donating my commuting money to a different charity each week including, the Aspinal Foundation, Women’s Aid and Mind.”

HELPING THE NEIGHBOURS

“I have signed myself up to Nextdoor.com and have registered to help the local residents for any errands or grocery shopping they need whilst in isolation, particularly the high-risk residents.”

ASSISTING THE ELDERLY

“I have helped elderly strangers with their shopping. If I notice they’re struggling, I’ll whiz round with their list…observing social distancing of course!”
