ALANNAH WESTON
Selected by Associate Director, Lottie Simonson

Alannah Weston, Chairman of Selfridges Group is both a leading influence and overall inspiration in the re-shaping of luxury consumerism. Her vision for the industry not only encompasses an open-armed approach, collectively experimenting with innovative business models and improving the experience for the customer but also has shone a vital spotlight on sustainable retail practices. Last year Alannah launched Selfridges Project Earth which puts sustainability at the heart of the brand and offers an inspiring insight into how businesses can work with their partners and customers to drive positive change.”

MICHELE LAMY
Selected by Associate, Karis Samuelson

Michele Lamy is the ultimate icon of bold self-expression even in her late ‘70’s. She has such a unique and exciting take on fashion and furniture design. I love her statement pieces which are a beautiful blend of natural materials and a futuristic dystopian aesthetic.”

IRIS APFEL
Selected by Senior Designer, Lauren Colquhoun

Iris Apfel is an extravagant icon and my creative inspiration. She is unashamedly herself and encourages women of all ages to be proud of who they are and not be confined by what society tell us we should look and dress like.

Her motto of “More is more, and less is a bore” has always resonated with me as a proud maximalist (no thanks, Marie Kondo). Fashion and interiors are an outlet to get creative and show your personality. A person’s home should be a visual collection of their travels, experiences and passions; so in the words of Iris, be brash.”

DAME NATALIE MASSENET
Selected by CEO, Alec Watt

Dame Natalie Massenet - A Visionary - when many doubted it could be done, she changed the way the world of Fashion Retails with Net a Porter going on to Chair the British fashion Council between 2013 to 2017. A real inspirational success story.”
