AT HOME WITH A.LONDON July 2019
Here at A.LONDON, we recently partnered with ambitious property developers Almacantar, on one of London’s most highly anticipated developments; Lyons Place. It is the first two-bedroom show home to be unveiled at the development, perched between Maida Vale, Little Venice and St.John’s Wood.
With all eyes set on the development to complete this summer, we managed to get in conversation with the developer’s Property Director, Kathrin Hersel:
What does Lyons Place offer the city against other major developments?
With Lyons Place, we wanted to create a truly boutique offering. Designed by iconic British architect, and Maida Vale local Sir Terry Farrell, the beautifully crafted scheme references the rich cultural heritage of the area, and offers village-style living at the heart of a vibrant local community just moments from the centre of London. Residents will love the beautiful blue façade and brick exterior, it really stands apart from most modern buildings you see these days.
“The approach taken by A.LONDON has proven to be desirable to both old and young, due to the quality styling and timeless design.”

How has A.LONDON’s show home design met Almacantar’s vision for the development’s residents?
A.LONDON’s design for our two bedroom show home perfectly reflects the personality of the development. Drawing on inspiration from the heritage of the area, they have brought together a wonderful array of objects and materials, which have created a welcoming home. The approach taken by A.LONDON has proven to be desirable to both old and young, due to the quality styling and timeless design.”
Why was it important to unify the two surrounding neighbourhoods of Edgware Road and Maida Vale through this development?
Lyons Place is within the coveted NW8 postcode, at the meeting point of not just Edgware Road and Maida Vale but Little Venice too. This brilliant location presented us with an exciting opportunity, and we wanted to embody the spirit of these surroundings in our vision for the development. Maida Vale is known for its elegance and sophistication, Edgware Road for its vibrancy and buzz, and of course Little Venice for its stunning canals and picturesque neighbourhood feel.
