Read on as we talk to Ella, and discover what her new role entails, as well as delving in to what truly inspires our new designer…
Hi Ella, welcome to the team! Tell us a little more about your background in the industry.
I have worked very closely with property developers in the New Homes industry since the start of my career, after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture. I have extensive experience in both residential and commercial design. My previous role leaned heavily on my interior architectural skills, designing residential amenities spaces across some exciting developments around the capital. I have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects for some amazing clients, varying from luxury show homes, to concierges, marketing suites, offices, co-working spaces, cinemas and wellness facilities.
“I have been a follower of A.LONDON’s work for many many years, and have always been inspired by the diversity and innovation of every project they have showcased.”

Share with us a design trend prediction that you're particularly excited about.
I am loving the natural, unfinished stone surfaces we are seeing more and more of. Moving away from the polished marbles and quartz, and into more raw and organic finishes, concretes, plaster walls, stoneware accessories, embracing a more brutalist, tactile feel.
What excites you about being a part of A.LONDON? And what does a typical day look like for you in your new role?
I have been a follower of A.LONDON’s work for many many years, and have always been inspired by the diversity and innovation of every project they have showcased. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to work in a team of such talented individuals. The team dynamic and work culture here is just awesome!
As a Senior Interior Designer each day brings its own unique challenges and opportunities! Whether I am heads-down design-mode ON, out and about for site-visits and client meetings, or in-amongst it with installations, my role is so diverse which makes each day incredibly exciting.
If you were given an unlimited budget and complete creative freedom, describe the dream project you'd embark on. What would be your 'magnum opus' of interior design?
My dream would be to renovate a huge chalet in the French Alps!Something that exudes warmth and luxury. Soft, sumptuous fabrics and rustic timbers, a perfect balance of cosiness and sophistication.
What should we be looking out for from A.LONDON?
I joined A.LONDON at such an exciting time. We have some incredible projects in the pipeline which I cannot wait to get stuck into. Our presence in NYC is growing, and I will be heading there this year to meet with suppliers for our upcoming projects which is super exciting.
Lastly, what advice would you give to your younger self when you were just starting out in the industry?
I would say inspiration is key – take in your surroundings constantly wherever you go. Restaurants, hotels, museums. Galleries, showrooms, antique fares. Visit country houses in your spare time. Familiarise yourself with suppliers and go to all the trade shows and ask as many questions as you can. There is inspiration everywhere, and I think it is such a valuable tool as a designer to visit places that inspire.
