Earlier this year, A.LONDON welcomed a new addition to the team, Rachel Clark. Rachel has been a part of the Accouter Group of Companies since 2021, and her journey towards becoming an Associate Director has been inspiring to see.
Read on as we talk to Rachel, and discover what her new role entails, as well as revealing some of the exciting things coming in 2023 for A.LONDON…
Hi Rachel, can you describe what a typical day is like as an Associate Director for A.LONDON?
No two days are ever the same at A.LONDON, one day I could be visiting beautiful properties to dress for sale in some of the city’s most prestigious postcodes, and the next I am video calling overseas clients to design their Homes in London and the Home Counties. From creating luxury interiors for discerning private clients, to providing developers and agents with the best marketing tools to help them achieve the highest sale and rental values for their luxury properties, our many services keep our team very busy and it’s so rewarding to see the projects come to fruition.

What has been your favourite A.LONDON project to be a part of and why?
There have been many incredible projects since I started at A.LONDON, but my favourite has to be The Hanover Penthouse. To create interiors for a property that rival the stunning views of London it provides is a great achievement and our designer Lauren did it beautifully. The vibrant colours and statement pieces created spaces that have stayed in everyone’s memory, and that’s what show home design is all about.
Tell us a little bit about your journey within the industry, what led you to this point in your career?
I started my career in the interior design industry at a Berkshire based interior design studio, providing interior design for the private estates of Surrey and the surrounding home counties. Working on properties of such scale was a great experience, being involved from the initial architectural design of the homes through to the finishing touches made each project very special. I then moved to
London during lockdown and joined AGC!
Out of all of the tasks you complete within your role as Associate Director, which do you find the most rewarding?
There are many rewarding things about my role, but the clients I meet and speak with on a daily basis make it so fulfilling. I love meeting new people and finding new opportunities to work with others in the industry, as well as helping individuals to add value in their own role through our range of services.
What should we be looking out for from A.LONDON in 2023?
As the only interior design studio in London to provide luxury rental furniture for the prime and super-prime market, we expect to see this service grow as developers and agents continue to seek furnishing solutions on a more flexible basis. We are excited to share lots of new design projects this year, for both private clients and developers in some of London’s finest postcodes.
Lastly, do you have any advice for people wanting to become a part of the luxury interior design industry?
My advice would be to not only learn about the luxury interior design industry but also the wider luxury industry itself. Luxury influences design, from hotels to fashion brands, so try to immerse yourself in the world that clients value. And enjoy! The interior design industry can be fast paced so make sure you take always take a moment to appreciate the creativity and talent within it.
